Acupuncture has been used as a healing modality in Chinese medicine since 500 B.C. When meridians are blocked or interrupted, our disruption in the flow of “qi” can result in symptoms of disease. Dr. Eischens will perform a thorough assessment for your specific treatment before acupuncture needles are placed at specific points to regain balance and restore health.

Acupuncture may be especially helpful for people with concerns of:

  • Anxiety
  • Asthma
  • Cough
  • Diarrhea
  • Dysmenorrhea/PMS
  • Fever
  • Headaches
  • Infertility
  • Insomnia
  • Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Sinusitis
  • Smoking cessation or drug withdrawal

Acupuncture can be used as a solo treatment or in combination with other healing modalities.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people find acupuncture treatments to be quite painless and very relaxing. Acupuncture needles are tiny in comparison to most needles used for medical purposes. Dr. E has techniques to minimize the needle phobia that some patients have so the treatments are enjoyable and relaxing.

How long does it take to see results?

It depends on the condition and the person, but many people see results within one treatment. When people have issues such as pain, sinus congestion, and anxiety, they often notice results within minutes of needle placement. Most patients report better quality of sleep the evening of acupuncture treatments.
As with any treatment, acupuncture has a cumulative effect meaning a person is likely to see longer lasting results with weekly treatments for 4-8 weeks vs. one stand alone treatment.
